Who we are

My name is Traci, and I'm the proud owner of Hickory Hill Goldens, located on our family farm in south central Kentucky. Alongside my husband and our three children, we raise both beef cattle and AKC Golden Retrievers.

With a passion that began in 2018, I've dedicated myself to breeding outstanding Golden Retrievers. Our breeding dogs are an integral part of our family and reside with us on the farm.

Our farm features several acres of securely fenced land, allowing our dogs to roam freely, exercise, and enjoy the beautiful outdoors. Additionally, they have access to a climate-controlled building, complete with comfortable beds, fresh food and water, and toys. As an active family, we also enjoy hiking and spending outdoor time with our dogs, providing them with mental and physical stimulation.

Genetic Health Testing and Breeding Protocols

At Hickory Hill Goldens, we prioritize the health and well-being of our breeding dogs and puppies. To ensure the genetic integrity of our breeding program, we conduct comprehensive DNA testing using saliva samples, which are then analyzed by Embark Vet Laboratory.

This testing enables us to identify potential disease risks associated with over 200 common breed-related health issues. Only dogs with suitable genetic profiles are selected for breeding, minimizing the risk of inherited diseases in our puppies.

Additional Health Measures

In conjunction with genetic testing, our breeding dogs undergo:

• Pre-breeding clearance by a licensed veterinarian

• Regular flea and tick prevention

• Routine deworming

• A diet of premium-quality dog food, essential for maintaining optimal health in both our adult dogs and puppies

By implementing these health tests and breeding protocols, we confidently provide puppies that are not only genetically sound but also raised with the utmost care and attention.
